Wines are classed as Estate wines when
- 100 percent of the wine is made from grapes either grown on land owned by the winery, or controlled by the winery.
- The winery and the vineyard must be in the same viticultural area.
- The grapes must be crushed and fermented by the winery, and also finish, bottle and age the wine on their own premises, and in a continuous process.
- During the whole wine making process, the wine MUST NOT leave the premises at any time.
